Monsoon showers in Sindh and Punjab
KARACHI: Heavy showers lash Karachi for brief intervals, as the met office predicts the low pressure weather system to last for over twenty-four hours.The met office predicted scattered thundershowers, with isolated heavy falls, in Sindh and at isolated places of Kashmir, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Gujranwala, Hazara, Islamabad and Sialkot and also in Balochistan.According to Chief Meteorologist Muhammad Riaz, heavy downpours are expected in most parts of upper Punjab on Wednesday while heavy showers have also been predicted to lash the south-western parts of Sindh.Weather forecasts suggest that monsoon winds of low pressure are hovering over India’s Madhiya Pardesh, close to Sindh province, and it is nearing towards the west of Pakistan.A rain system is already lashing Karachi, and it is expected to continue its activity over the next 24 hours. So far, nearly 35 mm rain has been recorded in the North Karachi area, PAF Masroor received 32 mm, around 24 mm of rain was recorded in the vicinity of Karachi airport, while heavy rainfall was recorded in the Lyari and Mauripur area as well.Downpours were also recorded across Sindh last night, including Badin, Tharparkar, Chor and Mithi areas
